The integration of innovative technological tools and techniques in the educational system continues to fuel Dr. Aliya Holmes in the research and development process. Dr. Holmes acquired a B.S. in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics, a M.S. in Curriculum Design and Instructional Technology (CDIT), and a Ph. D. in Education specializing in Curriculum and Instruction, all from the University at Albany, State University of New York. Dr. Holmes served as a Project Manager for the Center for Initiatives in Pre-College Education (CIPCE) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in a dual role, coordinating and consulting for the Capital Area Technology and Inquiry in Education (CATIE) program for more than six years. The CATIE initiative implemented a situated model of professional development to support the integration of technology in classrooms and across content areas. Dr. Holmes recently joined St. John’s University as an Associate Professor for Educational Technology in the Department of Early Childhood, Childhood, and Adolescent Education.
